While I’m trying to book theater and comedy club shows everywhere in the country, at this point, I’m not usually actively seeking out new Renaissance Faires to perform at.
For the most part, I only consider a new show location if they contact me. If you want me to come to your faire, the best way to do that is to e-mail them and ask them to bring me in for a couple weekends. I no longer am able to do a full run at any faire.
I generally don’t work at festivals that already have Adam ‘Crack’ Winrich or Aaron Bonk because they’re friends of mine and most festivals won’t book more than one whip act. There have been exceptions where I’ve come in for guest weekends at places they were performing, but they are rare. If a festival they’re working asks me to work, my first call will be to them to get their approval and to ensure I’m not hurting their ability to make a living. -
I only add shows to my schedule once they’re confirmed — meaning the contract is signed. For most festivals, that doesn’t happen until about 6 months before the appearance, and for theater and comedy club shows, that can be as little as a month before the performance.
My show schedule for 2026 is still in process, stay tuned.

I generally don’t do private events like weddings and birthday parties, but you can always send a detailed e-mail to myself and my agent at jackthewhipper@gmail.com and teamjacklepiarz@gersh.com.

Unfortunately, no. Some faires discourage this since it sets the precedent that guests would then expect it from all performers. Same on my end. I get so many requests that if I entertained all of them, that would end up being most of every show I do.

I grew up in the circus — first with the Big Apple Circus, and then performing with my dad at Renaissance Faires. I’ve been onstage since I was 6 years old and cracking whips since I was 7. I didn’t start performing solo until I was 17, and honed my skills by street performing in Harvard Square and Faneuil Hall in Cambridge and Boston, respectively. I started performing at Renaissance Faires as Jacques ze Whipper when I was 20 and have been doing this show ever since.

Most of my whips come from Dakitty Whips or Adam Winrich. Keep in mind that most of the whips I use are customized for my specifications and preferences and may not be the best option for you.

I learned a lot from watching Adam Winrich on YouTube and strongly recommend his videos as a tool to help you learn. I also did my own version of a beginner’s whip tutorial a few years back.

No, Ses has his own show so the faire would need to also hire his act, the Double Edged Daredevils. We only do our combined “Secret Show” at certain faires. We also do separate theatre show tours.
